Health Improvement Center

The goal of the Health Improvement Center at CNUH is to promote early detection and diagnosis of chronic diseases and stress-related disorders causing cancer, cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases, which are the major causes of death in Koreans(2011 National Statistical Office, annual report on major causes of death) and to help people prepare for healthy and active life and longevity.

The characteristics of the health examination program are early check-up of chronic diseases causing cancer, cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases, which are the major causes of death in Koreans, and early detection of depression and dementia, and low-dose chest CT for early detection of brain and cardiovascular diseases and for early detection of lung cancer included in the age-specific basic health examination, and transrectal ultrasonography for males and bone mineral density test for females are added to the basic examination, with reference to major causes of death and cancer prevalence in Koreans announced by the National Statistical Office in 2011.
